Microsoft Mojave and Onsite Computer Clients

September 22, 2008

Last Friday an excited client of Onsite Computer Services in New Orleans inquired about the ‘new’ Microsoft system advertised on television, Mojave.  The client initially purchased a Vista PC for use in their business; however incompatibility with her existing XP systems prevented productive use of Vista and Onsite quickly downgraded the new PC to Windows XP.  One can imagine our smiles as Onsite Computer Services explained to the client that the ‘new’ Windows Mojave is actually Vista with SP1.

Obviously the television commercial achieved some desired results. The commercial caught the interest of the Onsite client and inspired her to inquire about the ‘new’ Microsoft system.  Some may contend the Mojave marketing ploy is the first successful move to generate positive sentiment for the Vista brand.

At Onsite Computer Services in New Orleans, a significant portion of our historical revenue is associated with business system upgrades and thus far Vista upgrades with our Microsoft business clients are less than robust.  One might expect the Mojave experiment will help resurrect Vista as a viable, productive upgrade option for business clients.  Hopefully the Vista marketing campaign will continue to build on the Mojave experiment and stimulate adaptation of the ‘new’ desktop from Microsoft.  With the present economic environment, any marketing help to revive our upgrade revenue is greatly appreciated.
