Onsite Computer, Microsoft Windows Mobile and Your Salesforce

June 18, 2008

An Onsite Client recently inquired about a Microsoft business solution to aid salespeople imporve customer service, make sales calls more efficiently, track and manage inventory, and access reports on demand.

Onsite is recommending a mobile application that our client could deploy, change and support more efficiently than their manual invoicing and record-keeping. As our client is experiencing growth, its present process is becoming more difficult to maintain, and the hand-generated invoices are time-consuming and often contained errors.  In particular, the process of entering the days sales orders and receipts was too slow and was hurting sales team productivity.  Sales members manage their own inventory and handle all tasks, from taking customer orders to making deliveries.

Onsite already has experience using Microsoft .NET technology to develop desktop and server applications, and we knew that Windows Mobile would enable us to take advantage of that same skill set.  Because of the popularity of Windows Mobile, we could choose from a broad range of third-party applications.

Windows Mobile provides a sales team with the tools to improve accuracy and efficiency, streamline delivery logistics, and develop pricing models, place orders and run reports. Microsoft Windows Mobile business solutions also allow sales personnel to respond more quickly to changes in its business environment.  Additional benefits from Windows Mobile includes bar code scanning to track stock-keeping units (SKUs), and exchanging data electronically with clients to decrease the time salespeople need to spend with each customer.

Does your business have an outside sales force?  How efficient is your sales, invoicing, receipt, and inventory process?  Call Onsite Computer and investigate Microsoft Mobile for your sales force.
