Worker Productivity, Microsoft, and Onsite Computer in New Orleans

June 3, 2008

In conversations with Onsite Computer’s clients, regarding the role of their Microsoft IT system in their business process productivity, their responses are quite interesting. More than 75% of the participants said they relate their productivity directly to their software and network.

Mike Catalanotto of Mike Cats Cycle Works, a custom Harley Speed Shop, is vociferous in his opinion that there is no way he could operate his business without his Small Business Server 2003, Outlook, his accounting system, and his Microsoft based dynomometer.

Although Internet access is important to all of Onsite’s clients, 100% of those we asked feel the Internet reduces productivity in the workplace. One client believes each worker wastes 3 hours per day ‘playing’ on the Internet.

Onsite further asked our clients if they felt they were reaping the most utility from their IT operations. The unanimous response was ‘NO’. Our clients feel their systems are underused and IT investment is wasted. Do you feel you’re getting the best return on your IT investment?
