New Microsoft based Computers and Preinstalled Software

April 26, 2008

A common situation Onsite Computer Services in New Orleans encounters is new Microsoft Vista or XP computers with pre-installed ‘free’ trial software.  Some call the trial software ‘bloat ware’.  As we all know, nothing is free.  The trial software has a limited life and is a marketing strategy to induce the new PC owner to purchase the real software.  Pre-installed trial software requires computer resources: hard disk space and memory.  The trial software often degrades new PC performance.  Some clients complain of incessant nag screens urging a purchase.

Onsite advises our business clients in New Orleans to remove the offending trial software, either by uninstalling the trial version or by reinstalling the operating system without the trial ware.  The best policy when ordering a new PC is to specify Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3 or Vista Business SP1.  Generally PCs with business-grade operating systems are not blessed with the plethora of ‘free’ software.

If you’re searching for computer consulting, repairs or service of your Microsoft based system or network in the New Orleans area, then call the knowledgeable, reputable Microsoft specialists at Onsite Computer Services, Inc. in New Orleans 504-469-6991.
