Since the Microsoft road show a few weeks ago, Onsite setup a Windows Server 2008 box in a test environment at our New Orleans office. Onsite’s initial impressions of the new server offering from Microsoft are great. Server 2008 should live up to its objectrive as an improved server system to replace its predecessor.
Microsoft Server 2008 has many new features; however we find a few improvements to be noteworthy. The ‘Read-Only Domain Controller’ is a welcome addition to any administrator experienced with system compromises. IIS 7.0 improves on the customizaiton, troubleshooting, and administration of their predecessor. Stay tuned. We’ll keep you informed with the Server 2008 goodies as we submenrge ourselves into Server 2008 land.
